Plans for a waste treatment plant to be built in Halebank. 

The Labour-dominated council voted in favour of the controversial application by five votes to four, despite fears from residents and local councillors about the impact the facility would have on traffic, noise and smells in the surrounding area. The site was geographically detached from the industrial area of Hale Bank and is accessible only through a private residential area and via an overused railway bridge  of "questionable structural condition" that was not designed to withstand HGV vehicles transporting waste. The site is by a school and very close to housing. The smells will affect halton and hale as well as Halebank. Please find an alternate place to build.
