Petition updateExtend the Bloor (and Dundas) bike lanes from Runnymede to the Mississauga borderBloor West Complete Street Extension Coming to City Hall

May 30, 2023

The Bloor West Complete Street Extension will be debated at the Infrastructure and Environment Committee (IEC) on Monday, June 5 – the next-to-final step before the Bloor Street bikeway can be extended west from Runnymede Road to Aberfoyle Crescent this summer in phase 1 of the project. Phase 2 from Aberfoyle Crescent to Resurrection Road will also be part of this motion, but will be installed in 2024.

The city’s public consultation survey found that 57% of the over 1,800 respondents agreed the Bloor West extension would improve safety for all road users with acceptable trade-offs for drivers; compared to 40% who disagreed. The safety message hits close to home for Etobicoke residents given last month's pedestrian death at Bloor and Aberfoyle and Sunday’s cyclist death at Scarlett and Braeburn.

Here’s how you can help:

  1. Share this petition with everyone you know. Especially if they live near the proposed extension in Etobicoke and Bloor West Village
