The Shield Ownership Group has been granted the opportunity to address Gravenhurst Town Council at their upcoming meeting on Tuesday, June 18th @ 3:00 pm for a 10-minute deputation on the ice contract reinstatement. The meetings are open to the public and will be held at Town Hall, 3-5 Pineridge Gate. Agendas and Minutes are available Online.
We, The Shield Ownership Group Implore the Town of Gravenhurst to:
- Review this case with fairness and transparency.
- Acknowledge that all accusations against the Club President have been disproven in provincial court.
- Uphold 'Public Participation In Decision-Making,' as encouraged by Town of Gravenhurst by-laws, giving due weight to the 600+ (500+ Digital + 100 Written) Signed Signatures of the #SaveTheShield Community Petition.
- Immediately reinstate the Muskoka Shield's ice and facility contract at Graeme Murray Arena for one calendar year at the rate of which the previous contracts were stipulated, enabling the team to reconstruct their roster and program in preparation for the 2024-2025 season as training camp would be scheduled to commence inside 90 days.
- Engage in sincere negotiations with the Muskoka Shield ownership to establish a new, mutually beneficial facility and ice contract schedule ensuring the team's enduring stability and success relating to Academy of Hockey Development Program, Community Programs, Banquet Facility Rentals, Snack Bar Rental, etc...
