Pay increase for Certified Family Home Providers of Idaho

Pay increase for Certified Family Home Providers of Idaho
The Issue
Certified Family Homes (CFH) provide a safe, family-style living environment for adults who need some assistance with the activities of daily living, but do not require a more restrictive institutional setting. Each resident has a tailored care plan designed to meet their individual needs and to ensure they have the opportunity to participate in community activities. The CFH is operated by a provider who has received the appropriate training and demonstrated the knowledge and experience to provide safe and effective services to the residents. Certified Family Homes already are the lowest paid 24-hour care residency for the folks with disabilities, hundreds of dollars less than nursing homes, ICFMR facilities, Assisted/Supported living facilities and Institutions, we have a huge IDAPA document of rules and regulations to abide by as well as rules and regulations given to us by Home and Community Based Settings. We are paid $2.22 per hour at this time, and have not had a cost of living increase in over 17 years. We are required to pay $300 per year for the Dept. of Health and Welfare to have our files. We are required to have 8 hours per year of training in which we are required to pay for, we have to maintain CPR and First Aid certifications in which we are required to pay for, we are required to have home inspections, fire extinguisher annual checks, and a multitude of other out of pocket costs to keep our homes compliant. WE DESERVE AND NEED A RAISE!
