Campaigner Kerry Thompson Shares Her Story in Top Disability Magazine Enable!

Enable Magazine - January - February 2020 Edition
With the support of Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust, Kerry Thompson shares her story in leading disability and lifestyle magazine Enable helping to create much-needed awareness of the endless struggles disabled women face accessing their routine Cervical Screening aswell as other gyne procedures.
High-profile disability campaigner Kerry Thompson, 40 faced a DECADE long battle to have an urgent follow-up smear test after her last (prior to becoming disabled) flagged worryingly abnormal cells. Due to access issues of getting onto the exam table as her GP practice doesn't have a mobile hoist, they couldn't offer a home screening or saw the situation worthy enough for a referral to her nearest women's hospital either which would have been more equipped to handle women with disabilities. In addition, Kerry's contraceptive coil she had implanted some years before was 5 YEARS overdue being replaced for the same access reasons.
