Petition Update: 132,000+ Signatures and Direct Outreach to Parliament

In just under a week, this petition calling for the deportation of New Zealand-born extremist Thomas Sewell has surpassed 132,000 signatures. That’s not just momentum it’s a clear and urgent demand from Australians across the country.

This weekend, I’ve taken that message directly to Parliament.

I’ve reached out to seven senators across party lines asking for their support and advocacy for a federal inquiry into far-right extremism, specifically targeting the National Socialist Network (NSN) and the White Australia Organisation, both reportedly led by Sewell. These groups promote racial hatred, antisemitism, and violence, and their growing influence poses a serious threat to social cohesion and national security.

In addition, I’ve formally contacted the office of The Hon Tony Burke MP, asking whether he and the government acknowledge the voices behind this petition, and whether they are willing to comment on the possibility of deporting Thomas Sewell after he has faced due process and justice here in Australia. 

This petition is not just about one man. It’s about protecting First Nations communities, confronting organised hate, and demanding accountability from those who enable it.
