I want to personally say thank you.

As a First Nations person, I’ve been subjected to and witnessed degrading, racially fueled rhetoric both online and in my everyday life. There have been moments where I’ve felt deeply alone. Moments where I’ve asked myself, would life be different if I weren’t Indigenous? Would I be treated differently if I were of European descent?

I’ve sat in despair. I’ve carried the weight of overwhelming sadness for my people for the way we’re spoken about, treated, and too often ignored.

But today, witnessing this wave of support… I now know I’m not alone. My people are not alone. There are thousands who stand beside us, who believe in justice, and who are willing to act.

From the core of my being, thank you. Your support, your contribution, your solidarity… it means everything.
