We have recently learned of the Department of Veterans Affairs’ decision to discontinue a critical shuttle service for our Veterans come January 30th.

Cutting the shuttle service from the New City Clinic to surrounding VA Hospitals is a slap in the face to these American heroes. The VA should be investing money in advertising this shuttle service, not cutting it back and depriving senior Veterans of a safe means to get the healthcare they deserve!

Our VA Veterans' medical clinic in New City, New York provides ongoing medical services for more than 6,500 local veterans.  This was the first-of-its-kind established and now there are more than 1,000 such VA medical clinics throughout the U.S. - making it much more convenient for the veterans to access VA medical benefits.  One of the services provided for our Veteran community is a shuttle that runs from the New City clinic to other larger VA hospitals in the region including Castle Point and Montrose.
