Repeal new changes to the requirements of Professional Master of Education degree

The Issue

Earlier this year The Department of Education and Skills under the leadership of Minister Richard Bruton, took the unfair and unjust option to change the Leaving Certificate requirements in three subjects areas (Irish, Maths and English) for students wishing to gain access to a back route of Primary teaching known as the Professional Master of Education (Primary). Therefore leaving many students unaware or distressed that the grades they received in their Leaving Certificate no longer reach the required mark in order for them to participate in Professional Master of Education (Primary) courses throughout Ireland. We ask the Minister for Education and Skills Richard Bruton, NOT to retrospectively punish current students with a new grading system when they are two and a half years into current third level courses. This decision is asking students to retake Leaving Certificate examinations along side third level assessments. Please support third level students fight this inconsiderate unfair choice.
