THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR STANDING UP AGAINST HATE. As we just saw in Layfayette, Louisiana on Thursday, and as you know at the root of your very being as human, hate is violence, and the logical conclusion of organized hate speech is ALWAYS physical violence. Your stance against Roosh and his website is a stance against gendered violence not only in Canada, but around the world. And it has not gone unnoticed!!!
We have over 6000 signatures in just a few days!!!!! Many of you not only signed the petition, but left amazing, articulate, and important comments on it and forwarded it to others or posted a link to it on Facebook or Twitter (#stoprooshv). I encourage you to read the comments and be encouraged by how many people worldwide are willing to stand up and say 'NO' to misogynist hate.
The CBC has covered the petition! A national media source. In addition to an article on CBC.ca, there was a CBC Radio segment on the petition on a show called Daybreak Montreal. The link to the radio segment is within the article banner, just below the headline.
There is an event in Montreal August 7th being planned on Facebook in response to Roosh if he makes it past the border!! I urge you to attend if you can. Aurelie Nix, of Montreal is organizing the event via Facebook.
I want to thank you from the bottom of my very heart for taking the time to sign this petition. Hate speech laws exist to keep misogynist propagandists like Roosh from disseminating their hate. Your signature goes a long way toward ensuring those laws are enforced. We need to send a clear message to hate purveyors around the world: you are engaged in criminal hate activity, and you are not welcome in Canada. If Roosh is turned away at the border, others will stay away. Other countries and other border agencies will take notice. No matter where you are from, your signature contributes to the fight against hate both in Canada and globally.
THANK YOU SO MUCH
Unfortunately I cannot post more than one link here. If you would like more information about the CBC coverage or the Montreal event, please email me at sarapt@gmail.com, or friend me on FB.
