I truly appreciate the 355 people who have signed this petition. Thank you. It's an exciting response for the first four days. However, now the "heavy lifting" begins with only two weeks before Tampa City Council votes, November 13 at 5:01 pm.
So please share this petition with social groups, book clubs, civic associations, friends, family and neighbors.
This commercial hotel complex is in the wrong location and impoortant to all who:
- value historic neighborhoods
- visit Hyde Park
- walk Bayshore Boulevard
- drive Tampa's traffic jammed streets
- worry about flooding and flood insurance
- believe alcohol sales should not be introduced into residential communities and near schools
Please copy the link and post on your social media like Instagram, X, Facebook, NextDoor, and email to your contacts. Thank you.
Our interim goal is 500 signatures by Halloween night.
The photograph is flooding at Magnolia, Swann and Bayshore - from just Tropical Storm Debby in August 2024. The same site saw much higher flooding from Hurricanes Helene and Milton in the same year. This intersection is where the Palm Beach developer is proposing a hotel complex that would triple density.
