DentonISD re-zoned the lines for our school district this year, and there has been a dispute over whether or not a kid could participate in varsity basketball this year. Although Mr. Brockington (the kid in this situation now a junior at Denton HS) attended school for 2 years previously at Billy RyanHS (also in Denton,Tx) played varsity as a freshmen and sophomore for them. After the re-zoning in our district this made Trayvon zoned for Denton HS. OUR SCHOOL DISTRICT is making him sit out a WHOLE YEAR because they re-zoned everyone and he is now zoned for Denton HS. This is an act of injustice and is unfair for the kid in this situation and SHOULD NOT BE JUSTIFIED as moving for any other purposes other than being in his current SCHOOL ZONING. Not only him but his younger sister whom is now a sophomore at Denton has to SIT OUT A WHOLE YEAR. PLEASE HELP BY SIGNING THIS PETITION. Not everyone is fortunate enough to play ANY sport(s) in high school and NO ONE under any circumstances should have to suffer a year of ineligibility due to a lack of structure from their very own school district.
