Mining can occur at local, regional, and global scales through direct and indirect processes, leading to erosion, sinkholes, biodiversity loss, and the contamination of soil, groundwater, and surface water by chemicals from mining processes.

 Mining has adverse effect in nature and not only people in a certain or local population is affected by it but also miners too.

There are many diseases that can come fromthe leakage of chemicals released into the air and water.Most of the miners suffer from various respiratory and skin diseases, Miners working in different types of mines suffer from asbestosis, silicosis, black lung disease etc.

We think that these following solutions are effective enough to prevent and promote an enviromentally-friendly mining.

• Shutting down unregulated and illegal mines.
• Enforcing accurate reporting of dumped toxic wastes
• Backfilling mine sites nd proper waste clean-up
• Encouraging and  in the development of  mining technology
• Inproving mining legistations  regulations

We made this petition because mining is one of the main causes of deforestation. In order to mine, trees are cleared and burned. With the ground completely bare, large scale mining operations use huge bulldozers and excavators to extract the metals and minerals from the soil. There has to be an action to this problem for the sake of people who lived near  mining sites to not experienced just like what happened to baguio. A huge amount of land mass killed many lives of innocent people due to this and many people suffer from the  loss of not only lives but personal things.
