Mr Davis (Minister for Health) please Convince/Intervene with Health Care Medical Imaging (HIS) to come to a reasonable agreement with their Medical Imaging Employees.
The issue
For over eighteen months Health Care Imaging Employees (HIS) employed in many Victorian Public and Private Hospitals Medical Imaging Departments have been campaigning for a fair outcome to their Enterprise Agreement. Staff at these sites have not had a pay rise since July 2012. Staff through their union The Victorian Health Professionals Association (VHPA) have undertaken legal and protected Industrial action taken out with due diligence and proper process.
HIS employees are not seeking outrageous increases but the industry average HIS will not agree to a fair increase. Employees have been subjected to delay, frustration, intimidation, and bullying. Fourteen employees have been locked out including union delegates, for long periods of time without pay. At no time have HIS employees withdrawn emergency or acute health care they have always put the welfare and care of their patients first.
The provision of top standard Medical Imaging in our hospitals depends on a well-trained dedicated team of professionals with high moral being taken care of by their employee. Morale at HIS sights across Victoria has plummeted and the company is struggling to retain and employ staff because of their actions. Victorians deserve better! HIS employees deserve better!
