Arizona has passed a new law prohibiting filming police during law enforcement activities from less than 8 ft away after a verbal warning. This is an attempt to prevent people from interfering with police activities by getting in the way or putting the camera holder in unnecessary danger. The bill defines law enforcement activities as arrests, questioning suspicious individuals, and handling those who are emotionally disturbed. Those found to be in violation of HB 2319 after being asked to stop could earn "a class 3 misdemeanor, which comes with a minimum of 30 days in jail."
