On Saturday, we will be at the Democratic National Convention to present our open primaries petition to the DNC Rules Committee and call on the Democratic Party to open up the primaries nationwide. Months of campaigning, organizing, and strategic outreach have led up to this moment -- the culmination of our petition campaign. On behalf of the 26.3 million voters who were disenfranchised this year, the 39,000 voters who signed our petition, and the plurality of Americans who don’t associate with either party, we will send a strong message to the DNC to open the doors of democracy. Everything about this campaign is unprecedented: --Petitioning a rules committee of a party --So many within the party expressing a desire to open up its electoral process --A rule submitted by an insider of that party that would open up the process This is groundbreaking.
