Sorry for the lack of update yesterday but it was a tough dementia day, I'm sure most know what that's like 🥴 So a photo of me and my adored mum has been brought out to remind me of what's important and why we're doing this. Look at our smiles, that's what we and so many others want to keep 😊💙❤️
Anyway, let's get on to the positive stuff. The numbers of signatures are still going up a storm, so whatever you're doing keep it going because it's certainly working. Again, I know you know but for those that don't, if you share as well as signing it'll get the word round so much quicker. Emails were sent out to all the councillors covering 19 different wards the groups/clubs are in. I've had a couple of replies and one in particular has been a star, forwarding on my email to the Head of Adult Services in Hertfordshire. I've also sent emails to the commissioners on the coproduction board who are responsible for insuring that proper consultation takes place to make sure that the needs of people living with dementia and their carers are taken in to account. An Email has also been sent to Tony Kingsbury who is the executive member of Adult Care and Wellbeing and head of the contract award to the Alzheimer's Society.
Hopefully all this will start to change some hearts and minds to get those in charge to convince the Alzheimer's Society to keep our groups/clubs just the way they are, fantastic!
Please don't forget to give yourselves a massive pat on the back for what you're achieving here, you're superstars the lot of you.
Big thanks always
Lucy 💙❤️
