A3903 (mandating HESAA to offer Loan Modification and Consolidation to defaulted NJCLASS borrowers) is on the Assembly Higher Education Committee Agenda for Monday, June 11th at 10:00 a.m., committee room 15, 4th floor located at 125 W State Street, Trenton, NJ. I encourage everyone who is able to attend this meeting to do so. If you do attend, be sure to complete the sign-in slip available in the committee meeting room even if you do not want to speak, it will allow you to support the bill. If you plan on speaking, keep it to a minimum of 2 minutes and be sure to hit all major points as to why this bill is long overdue and very much needed. Tonight and tomorrow, we need to FAX and CALL each of the Higher Ed Assembly Members and ask them if assemblyman/woman is in support of A3903, and if so to make sure they are voting YES to A3903 on Monday, June 11th. If they are not supporting the bill or are uncertain, ask them why and then convince them this is a crucial piece of legislation that will open the door to futures stolen and money lost in NJ's failing economy.
