Did you know that, according to the Oregon School Board Association (OSBA), special meetings, including executive sessions, may be convened at least 24 hours before such a meeting is to be held by the order of the chair or upon request of three board members?
If you disagree with Monday night's SPS board decision to approve a funding plan that would eliminate at least 27 middle school and high school teachers by the end of this month, let's take these actions:
Check out and sign this new petition started by a Springfield parent who spoke at the board meeting about finding alternative sources to meet the budget shortfall.
Also, email each member of the board IMMEDIATELY and remind them it is their duty to listen to their constituents, and that we demand their "Yes" vote be rescinded and an alternative solution to the budget shortfall sought.
