Firstly, warmest thanks to all of you that have taken the time to support this cause! We have already gathered 1288 signatures in just 5 days and momentum continues!

Regrettably, rather than acting with a shred of ethical decency on the numerous reports of their product causing dogs to fall critically ill and initiating a recall on these deadly treats, Bow Wow Gourmet Pet Treats has instead doubled down and engaged Geoff Brennan of law firm Thomson Geer to threaten to sue me for making false allegations regarding their products.

In an email received today, 17/1/2025 marked [CONFIDENTIAL], Mr Brennan threatens:

Our client demands that you:

(a) remove the posts containing the False Statements by no later than 5pm on Saturday, 18 January 2025;

and

(b) refrain from making any other false statements as to Nova or the Product

Our client reserves its right to institute proceedings against you with respect to the making of the False Statements or any other false statements.

I want you to know that I will not remain silent over this issue and will vigorously defend any proceedings that Nova Concepts and Bow Wow Gourmet Dog Treats initiate against me. I will not be bullied into silence while they jeopardise Australian dogs' lives to offload their remaining inventory. OUR DOGS DESERVE BETTER!

Today, I visited two different Woolworths stores and found these products, which have been proven to have caused extreme illness in our beloved dogs, are still on the shelves for sale. We've had multiple veterinarians clearly state that the cause of these dogs falling ill is the unsuitability of these products for dog consumption... Yet still, they refuse to recall them, and instead attempt to brow beat those who speak out into submission. Coles however, while they have removed them from their website, appears to be applying heavy discounts to the potentially leathal treats, we can only assume to help move the remaining stock. (see main image)

Despite this tantrum by Bow Wow Gourmet Dog Treats, we've had some more wins with this petition!!!

Perthnow has also published an article warning people of the dangers, including comments from a leading vet at one of Western Australia's top Veterinary hospitals warning people against these products here

and

Big W has also removed the product from advertising on its website! (we're yet to confirm if they're still available in store)

These wins are directly attributed to the support from all of you who have signed this petition!! Now, we ask our supporters to continue to share this petition, have a conversation with a friend and ask them to sign the petition, and jump on Woolworths and Bow Wow social media pages demanding they recall these products and implement tighter quality controls. Keep drawing awareness to this issue and keep applying pressure to bring about change in this completley unregulated industry.
