Thanks to the 190 of you who have signed on to this petition, including those who called into the 1/31 NJ Transit meeting and generated news coverage! Please call the NJ Transit Board of Directors meeting TOMORROW, Tuesday, Feb. 13 at 6 PM by dialing 1-800-346-7359 and using Conference Entry Code: 701939.  Tell the NJT board you want a virtual participation option for the March fare hike hearings and explain why.

Agenda and details from NJT:

“Each speaker will have two (2) minutes to provide comments.”

“TELEPHONE: Speakers who pre-register and participate by telephone will follow the in-person speakers. Telephone participants who did not pre-register in advance,
and queue to speak, will have their comments taken on a first-come-first-serve
basis thereafter.

Speakers participating by telephone may begin calling in at 5:30 P.M. to check in
with the call proctor. Once checked in, participants can press *1 to enter the queue
to provide public comments. There will be a brief tone to indicate you have
successfully entered the queue. Anyone joining the meeting will be on a 'Music
Hold' prior to the meeting.”

To pre-register (by TODAY, 2/12, at 5 PM) and/or provide a written comment for Tuesday’s board meeting, visit https://njtransit.my.salesforce-sites.com/customerservice/site_app#/board_meeting. Note that you can still call into tomorrow night's meeting even if you do not pre-register.

Finally, in related news, elected officials are starting to join our call for a virtual hearing option for the March 2024 fare hike meetings. New Jersey Senate Republicans issued a press release and started their own petition echoing our calls for a virtual hearing option last week.

Please help build on this momentum. If you have not already done so, please reach out to your state, county and municipal elected officials (regardless of party affiliation) and encourage them to support our efforts.

Thanks,
Adam
