California UPS driver speaks out about the temperatures drivers endure during their workday. Drivers, around the country are doing the same. When, this petition was started, I couldn’t find more than a handful of drivers to share their stories. Now, with their strong new union leadership, they are no longer fearful of retaliation. To be clear, the drivers will still be called out by UPS, and possibly terminated, but with their new leadership they will fight back and win. No one should have to go to work under dangerous working conditions, and not make it home. Heat related injuries & death has brought forth National media attention for the first time since UPS was founded in 1907. With all the National attention, UPS continues to BS the public. With every story that comes forward UPS always repeats the same narratives. Air Conditioning would be ineffective, drivers are trained to work in the heat, water, ice is provided. Really? Most recently, UPS added to those narratives as described in this story. UPS claims they’re supplying cool neck wraps, & fans, not true. What is true, is the new Union Teamster President sent UPS a list of what UPS can do to keep the drivers safe until AC is provided. Can you guess  what was on that list? Hmmm cooling Neck cloths, fans, ice, and water, to name a few. Really UPS, exactly when did you implement these great ideas?? Drivers, I talk to are still waiting.
