1 day ago The problem with putting working air conditioning in trucks is a very simple. They wouldn’t be able to keep up with the up-keep of the air conditioners but main reason Ups doesn’t want air conditioning is becuse they don’t want drivers to be comfortable. They want them to move as fast as human possible (and it’s never fast enough according to management) they don’t want us sitting around in truck laying in the air conditioning. Just like in winter the heat barley works in most trucks. Corporate reason being they want us drivers to move fast to get out of the cold from freezing weather. At least drivers can dress for winter but summer is brutal. Guy put a thermometer in back of truck one day it reached over 120 degrees. It’s inhuman to the drivers and management could care less about there’s workers. It’s a big fugazzi. People think it’s such an amazing company to work for but until u actually go out and do It it’s not just delivering packages there’s more to it then just that. They treat there employees like peasants and could care less if they lived or died. The company isn’t what It use to be. The union is weak and management harrasment is unbelievable how they speak n treat there employees all management cares about is there bonuses they get off the hard working sweat off our backs. It’s unfortunate but these righ to work states are screwing unions across the nation. Ups workers get screwed more then any union in America. What was once a great job is becoming into one of the worst. Management claims to care about there’s drivers bu most don’t. Oh and when new contract when in saying any new trucks bought after new contract need to have working ac/heat what did Ups do? They bought up fleets of trucks so that they didn’t have to Adhere to the new language so basically they’ll never have working ac or heat just the way they want it. Where just a number with a company this size which is unfortunate cause no to long ago they looked at us as the face of the company the backbone. Now too many chiefs not enough Indians so unfortunate
