Petition updateDemand transparency and accountability in UK veterinary care #JusticeForElvaPetition Update: Strengthening Our Fight for Elva’s Records

Thank you to everyone who has supported Elva’s petition so far. Your voices continue to give strength to this campaign.

I want to share an important development: following the incomplete response to my Subject Access Request (SAR465), I have now issued a formal clarification to head office. This makes clear that they must disclose all records — not only those held centrally, but also those at the Leeds Birstall practice. This includes clinical notes, anaesthetic sheets, hospitalisation records, scan results, consent forms, audit trails, internal and external emails, meeting notes, and correspondence with outside agencies such as the Veterinary Defence Society (VDS) and RCVS.

Despite repeated requests, vital documents remain missing. This is a breach of GDPR rights and obstructs transparency in veterinary care. Unless full disclosure is provided, I will escalate this matter to the ICO and RCVS for enforcement.

Elva’s case is not just about one dog — it is about accountability, honesty, and the right of every client to access their records. By standing together, we can push for change and ensure no family faces this kind of obstruction again.

Please continue to share this petition widely. Every signature strengthens our call for transparency and justice.
