Dear Friends,

I wanted to let you know that after Musk appeared in the New York Times yet again, due to the European Commission  initiating a preliminary inquiry into the spread of “terrorist and violent content and hate speech” on X after October 7, I sent the petition with around 500 signatures to all the Democratic members of the U.S. Senate Subcommittee responsible for the internet.

I was unable to message Senator Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin, as I am not a resident of her state, but all the others received the link to the petition as well as a short statement about the continuing problems with X, the danger this poses, and the good response to our petition. Senator Peters of Michigan is one of the members of the subcommittee, so I highlighted the fact that many signers are residents of his state.

Thank you all for signing, and unless someone suggests another course of action, I'll consider this effort complete.
