I am at a lost for words. I attended my 1st school board meeting on Feb 29 and it definitely won’t be my last. After reading this I pray I have more that will join me going forward. The disrespect from the superintendent is unimaginable. You would have thought concerned parents, home owners, and students were there to discuss/defend murders instead of voicing thoughts of necessary changes to be educated in a safer environment and demanding change and equality in ALL COBB COUNTY schools.
While addressing the parking lot shooting at McEachern that injured two people, he(the superintendent)was jeered for referring to it as an “event”.
When referring to Regina this was his response
"There have also been some to suggest that the principal should resign or be terminated. Let me be very clear. Regina Montgomery was the principal of McEachern High School on Feb. 1, 2024 and acted according to policy and procedure.
Regina Montgomery is the principal of McEachern High School, and Regina Montgomery will continue to be the principal of McEachern High School."
As a parent, I expressed that Regina leadership style has failed to instill respect among students and staff alike and her inability to act as a strong authority figure has resulted in an environment where our children do not feel safe or protected. And that was your response to me as the superintendent. What a slap in the face.
This is who by default we have allowed to be the decision maker of our children our community our future. WE have the control to make a change. WE ARE STRONGER IN NUMBERS.
4 REPUBLICANS makes the decisions on the behalf of Ragsdale. HOW ARE THERE POLITICS IN THE SCHOOL SYSTEM? ONE TEAM ONE SUCCESS How? When your “team” is divided.
PARENTS, FAMILY, and FRIENDS we can’t continue to allow this foolishness to happen. Even if your child or family members isn’t directly affected trust me they are still affected.
NEXT BOARD MEETING IS MARCH 21st at 2pm and 7pm at the Cobb County School District in Marietta. Let’s show up how we show up for sports events and entertainment for our children because showing up for these meetings I promise will be more meaningful. We need a standing room and lobby.
