Last night (12/6), we met at the Gearhouse in Capitol Hill to discuss the petition. The event featured Rikki Hinz's story of resilience in the face of sexual violence inside the Mountaineers as she became the 92nd person in history to complete the Washington Bulger List. You can watch her presentation HERE.

There are women in your life who are just starting out on lengthy journeys wherein they will have to confront the institutional violence which aims to hold them back from their dreams. What are you doing to dismantle the Patriarchy?

The Mountaineers are meeting tonight (12/7) to discuss this petition. If you are among the selected group who is invited to attend, you can register to attend HERE. We are thrilled to see movement and internal conversation after so much shutdown and silence surrounding these issues. I want to instill confidence in those who are attending in order to speak up for survivors: you are strong, you have every right to be heard, and you matter. If there is anything I have learned during this process, it's that putting your name and face out there is scary, but it might be confirmation to someone out there that it is indeed okay to survive SA/DV and talk about it. Be proud of who you are and what you've survived. You have every right to be there. It is the people who are committing violence as Mountaineers members who do not belong.

I will be online tonight hosting an Ask Me Anything after the meeting wraps up. Instagram.com/thedirtbaguette is where you will find me.
