While the ceasefire is welcomed, remember that its extremely fragile. Gaza needs our close attention.

israel has repeatedly shot at Palestinians in recent days, murdering dozens. They have heavily reduced the agreed upon amount of aid entering the enclave, and have delayed opening the Rafah crossing.

Gaza must also be flooded with more, sufficient equipment.

But at this moment, the need [is] for better equipment and high-quality equipment and larger trucks and bulldozers to move the rubble and also to dig out bodies of Palestinians missing and trapped … and bodies of captives that the israeli military now is demanding and conditioning the sustainability of the ceasefire [on]. ” - Hani Mahmoud, Al Jazeera journalist reports.

Many people in Gaza have fears of the Genocide and displacement resuming.

People here do not trust Trump or Netanyahu, although people keep telling themselves that this time the ceasefire is different because we have many countries supporting it, ” - says Abeer Barakat, who has recently returned to Gaza City with her family.

“ But we are still afraid. Like many other families, we have kept many of our belongings in the south, in safe places … We are afraid that Netanyahu will [take] any kind of pretext, or any kind of excuse, to break this ceasefire and Trump will endorse it. ”

Now is not the time to look away, the Irish government has the opportunity to do the right thing

It has been called upon the Irish government to deploy peacekeepers to Gaza if possible & as soon as possible.

The Occupied Territories Bill needs to be enacted in its entirety, as israel must be economically isolated.

The US munitions passing through Shannon Airport / Irish airspaces need to be immediately stopped. This inaction is a disgrace and complete shame, we wont tolerate complicity.

Please continue to sign & share this petition, to keep the pressure on.

Thank you, and in solidarity,

-Holly xx
