Folks,

It is now November, which means the six-month shutdown of river services on the non-tidal Thames is now in full effect and the image above is one of Thames River Boats cruises during its last week of operation from Kingston bridge.

Despite the five-month gap between reaching our 100 and 200 signature milestones, momentum has really caught up and we are now just 26 signatures away from 400 signatures. You might remember that I had to close the page until one of my concurrent campaigns passed the 400 signature milestone, now we are reaching that very milestone ourselves and could potentially have 500 by the end of the year.

The six-month shutdown seriously harms tourism in the capital, and it is caused directly by a shortage of rolling stock (vessels), poor infrastructure at Hampton Court Landing Stage (making winter mooring difficult) and poorly timed maintenance schedules at Teddington Lock, NOT because of bad weather and I saw night patrol boats on the non-tidal thames when I visited the Halloween fireworks display at The Lensbury (a community centre and hotel adjacent to Teddington Lock).

We will definitely reach and surpass the 400 signature milestone this month, becoming only my third campaign on the platform ever to do so.
