To all of you who have signed the petition to try to get changed for Saltville water supply. Since I am asking for transparency from the Town of Saltville, I also need to deliver that myself. I have made a slight change to the petition, and instead of saying that we demand that Saltville turnover water management to Smyth County, it is to demand that they cede control of water management to a water authority. Similar to Washington County. This change was prompted by a conversation via email with the chair of the board of supervisors of Smyth County. He informed me that plans for such a water authority existed, and had already been presented to neighboring towns. He stated that the county does not have the ability to take over all the areas that would be needed.
