Hello everyone,

I want to start with a heartfelt thank you to the 3,400 people who signed the Bruce’s Whistleblowers petition so far.

When I started this campaign in May 2025, I honestly didn’t know how long it would take or if it would make a difference at all. Just eight months later, a Bruce’s site has closed down. That outcome would never have happened without the courage of the whistleblowers who spoke up, the contributors who shared evidence via the Instagram, Facebook and TikTok page, and every single person who took the time to sign and support this petition.

This result shows what collective action can achieve. But there are still 10 Bruce’s Doggy Daycare sites currently operational.

One of the most common messages I receive is: “What can we do to help?”
Right now, the most effective thing you can do is contact your local council’s animal licensing department and ask them to take this issue seriously.

Below is a simple template email. Please feel free to copy, paste, and send it to the relevant animal licensing inspectors at your local council. It only takes a couple of minutes, but it genuinely matters.

Dear Licensing Inspector / Animal Welfare Team,

I am writing to formally submit a complaint and request an urgent investigation into serious animal welfare and licensing concerns relating to Bruce’s Doggy Daycare, which operates within your council’s jurisdiction.

This complaint is supported by a substantial and growing body of public evidence, including testimony from former employees and customers, extensive social media documentation, national newspaper investigations published in 2025, and a public petition signed by more than 3,400 individuals calling for council led enforcement action.

Summary of concerns

A coordinated whistleblower campaign operating under the name “Bruces_whistleblowers” across Instagram, TikTok and Facebook has collated testimony from a significant number of former staff and customers. These accounts consistently raise concerns regarding:

Prolonged confinement of dogs in transport vehicles
Inadequate supervision and staffing
Distress, injury and deterioration in animal welfare
Conditions that appear inconsistent with licensed dog daycare standards
The volume and consistency of these testimonies suggest systemic issues rather than isolated incidents.

Former staff and customer testimony

Public statements attributed to over 100 former staff members allege poor welfare practices and failures in operational oversight. Customers have also publicly described concerns about their dogs’ treatment, behaviour changes, and physical condition after attending the facility.

These accounts are supported by publicly available online reviews and corroborated statements across multiple platforms.

National media investigations (2025)

The seriousness of these allegations has been independently examined by national media outlets, including:

The Times – investigative reporting by Tom Witherow detailing allegations from former employees regarding prolonged van confinement and welfare failings.
The Sun – reporting by Ben Endley highlighting claims of dogs being kept in vehicles for extended periods and returned with injuries.
The Telegraph – coverage of the controversy and regulatory scrutiny surrounding Bruce’s Doggy Daycare.
The involvement of three national newspapers demonstrates the credibility and public interest significance of these concerns.

Public petition and community concern

A Change.org petition titled “Demand RSPCA and Councils Investigate Serious Welfare Allegations at Bruce’s Doggy Daycare” has now exceeded 3,400 verified signatures. The petition specifically calls on local councils to carry out inspections, review licensing compliance, and publish clear outcomes.

Formal requests

In light of the above, I formally request that Decorum council:

Conduct a full licensing and animal welfare inspection of all Bruce’s Doggy Daycare operations licensed by your authority
Review complaints and evidence originating from whistleblower testimony and public submissions
Assess compliance with all licence conditions relating to supervision, transport, environment, staffing ratios, and welfare
Confirm in writing what enforcement action or remedial steps (if any) are being taken
Provide a clear timeline for completion of the investigation and publication of findings

Conclusion

The scale of public concern, combined with consistent testimony from former staff, customers, and national press investigations, makes it essential that this matter is addressed transparently and without delay. Failure to act risks undermining confidence in local authority oversight and animal welfare protections.

Please confirm receipt of this complaint within 14 days, and advise how and when your investigation will proceed.

Yours faithfully
