It has recently been brought to my attention that Professor Shurtz has allegedly made both racially bigoted statements and disturbing comments about women in her classroom and to her students. Students claim they have previously made grievances to the law school administration only to be told she is tenured and not much could be done. I urge ANY students who have experienced this, to immediately lodge a complaint with Penny J. Daugherty, the Director of University of Oregon Office of Affirmative Action. Students, your grievances against Professor Shurtz are vitally important to the university's pending investigation. Your Alumni and community, stand with you. Be heard!
