Demand reliable electricity supply from Eskom
Demand reliable electricity supply from Eskom
The Issue
In our community of Gauteng, families like mine face the daily struggle of inconsistent electricity supply, leading to dire consequences. Our children, who need a stable environment to study, are left helpless as they prepare for school under flickering lights. As someone who works from home, strategic planning becomes a challenge, with frequent power fluctuations threatening my productivity and livelihood. Local businesses, already feeling the economic pinch, find themselves on the brink of closure due to unreliable electricity services. The unpredictability of power supply has ravaged our kitchens, spoiling precious food and damaging costly appliances.
It's baffling and unfair. Surrounding neighborhoods enjoy a constant electricity flow, leaving us to question why, despite paying exorbitant tariffs, we are neglected. Our communities are given no choice but to purchase electricity at ever-rising costs, only to face an erratic supply that renders our payments meaningless.
Eskom's failure to deliver reliable energy not only infringes on our quality of life but also undermines our right to equitable access to services. According to reports on load shedding schedules and electricity distribution, regions like ours are disproportionately affected compared to others. Quality service should not be a privilege; it is a right.
We demand transparency from Eskom, urging them to provide clear communication regarding load reduction schedules and implement a fair distribution of electricity. We propose the investigation and reallocation of resources to ensure that all Gauteng communities, regardless of their socio-economic status, receive consistent and reliable power supply.
By signing this petition, you are advocating for a change that affects us all. This is a call to hold Eskom accountable and work collectively towards an equitable energy solution. Stand with us in demanding the electricity service we rightfully deserve. Sign the petition today to restore power in more ways than one!
