The Issue

The community of Ward 89 in Ekurhuleni, along with all supporters of Cde Patrick Vusi Mthuli, stand together to demand justice and adherence to democratic processes. Cde Vusi was democratically elected as the candidate councillor in line with Rule 9.3.17 of the Candidate Selection Guidelines, as well as the African National Congress (ANC) Constitution and Section 19 of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa. Unfortunately, despite his rightful selection by a majority of ANC members, Cde Vusi's candidacy is being unjustly challenged.

Cde Vusi's dedication to public service and the development of Ward 89 is well recognized within the community. His leadership and commitment to addressing local issues such as improved public infrastructure, enhanced service delivery, and community empowerment make him the ideal representative for our ward. The process that led to his selection was transparent and in accordance with the necessary regulations and guidelines.

The removal of Cde Vusi not only undermines the democratic will of our community but also threatens the integrity of our political processes. It is crucial that the leadership of the ANC uphold the principles of democracy and fairness by recognizing Cde Vusi as the legitimate candidate for Ward 89. This issue extends beyond politics; it is a matter of respecting and honouring the choice of the people who live, work, and contribute to our community.

We urge the ANC leadership and relevant authorities to review this decision and reinstate Cde Vusi as the candidate for Ward 89. Let us show our unity and strength as a community and restore faith in our democratic institutions by supporting Cde Vusi. Sign this petition to stand in solidarity with the members and supporters of Ward 89, to demand the reinstatement of our democratically elected candidate. Our voices are powerful—the time to act is now. Sign the petition and help us bring back fairness and democracy to Ward 89.
