Thanks to your voices, we just scored a massive early victory!

On July 20, 2026, a federal judge ordered both Paramount and Warner Bros. to temporarily halt their merger for at least two weeks. This emergency pause was granted so that a lawsuit brought forward by 12 states, which argues the merger violates antitrust laws, can be fully seen through in court.

While this is an incredible step forward, the fight isn't over. The court has scheduled a hearing for August 3, 2026, to hear arguments on the states' preliminary injunction motion, although that schedule could be pushed back.
