Today, the investor (Lisk Avenue Holding Company) erected a large for sale sign on our lot which he purchased in a DOF tax lien foreclosure for $1,400, and now selling for $1.2 million after falsely indicating on a NYS form that the land was vacant (you can clearly see our pool house in the background). This was clearly an aggressive response to our community petition and the recent news coverage from the Staten Island Advance "A Staten Island condo community loses its pool, tennis court in tax saga. How did we get here?". 

Our elected officials have not met with the community yet despite our multiple requests. They have an essential role to play in ensuring that tax lien sales are conducted fairly and transparently. They must hold government agencies accountable for their actions and ensure that the process is accessible and equitable to all property owners. This responsibility includes monitoring the actions of government agencies, reviewing their policies and procedures, and making necessary changes to improve the process.
