Recently our petition has been covered by Fox News, Church Leaders, Crosswalk and The Christian Post. I was also greatful to be able to do an extended interview with The Christian Post just yesterday. I have consistently been keeping up with the comments left here, and was sure to share your concerns and make your voices heard. I hope the petition sees many more supporters of like minded individuals as a result of everyone's efforts.
I would also like to address concerns about the recent statements regarding the Lewis Estate and their endorsement of the film. While the report speaks about the "families of David and Douglas Gresham" being "enthusiastic" and "excited" about the upcoming adaptation, it is my position, based on insider information, that this was not genuine. Instead, it appears to be a result of Netflix standard SAG-AFTRA, Custom Netflix Exclusivity, and Intellectual Property Licensing agreements that frequently contain heavy Non-Disparagement Clauses, often tied to strict "Duty of Good Faith" and "Promotional Cooperation" mandates for the licensors. This statement is likely a result of contractual obligations mandated by the contract signed with Netflix. Considering the quote itself was pushed out by Netflix, this appears even more likely. Do not be disheartened! Based on my contacts, the Lewis family is on our side and appreciates our work from behind the scenes. Let us continue to show them our support.
