Spoke at the public forum with the NC Attorney General.

"Thank you for allowing me to speak about the injustice of Ronnie Long.

Ronnie has been wrongly imprisoned here in NC since May 10, 1976. That’s 16,150 days!!

MR. ATTORNEY GENERAL YOU KNOW THIS CASE WELL, BUT YOUR OFFICE CONTINUES TO DEFEND INJUSTICE.

To this day, there is NO physical evidence linking Ronnie to the crimes he is wrongfully convicted of. The only evidence the State has is a contaminated cross-racial eyewitness identification. We know today how unreliable eyewitness identification is.

The State withheld exculpatory evidence. This is beyond dispute! And the State has admitted a rape kit was collected and that they do not know what happened to it or where it is today. “How do you have a rape case without a rape kit?” asked Judge Thacker.

43 fingerprints were collected from the crime scene and only disclosed in 2015. These fingerprints do NOT match Ronnie Long!!! Race also played a factor in the conviction, as he was convicted by an all-white jury vetted in part by law enforcement.

This should be an easy case, but NC does not like looking backwards and righting past wrongs. This must be changed. And that change can begin by the A.G.’s Office discontinuing its defense of a clearly unfair and wrongful conviction.

End the suffering of an innocent man today!

Thank you for your time. #FreeRonnieLong!"
