Good Morning Fellow Residents, Ratepayers and Petition Supporters.

An opportunity to have your Voices heard has presented itself in the form of another Community Forum in Edmondson Park on

TIME⏰ Thursday 9 May 2024 | 6.00pm to 7.30pm

PLACE📍 Ed. Square Community Space, Corner of Henderson Road and Soldiers Parade (Opposite the train station), Edmondson Park

I will be taking this opportunity to present the Petition with the current signatures to the Mayor of Liverpool at the Community Forum on Behalf of the Residents who have signed the Petition so far.

I would be great if we could get the number of signatures to at least 500 before the 6th of May.

It's very disappointing that the Community Forums are no longer being Livestreamed because of the risk of defamatory comments being made. The information below might explain who allegedly made the defamatory comments and WHY the Mayor of Liverpool has decided not to Livestream or record the Community Forums this year.

AS A RESULT OF COMMENTS MADE AT THE November 2023 COMMUNITY FORUM IN EDMONDSON PARK A NOTICE OF DEFAMATION ISSUED TO THE MAYOR OF LIVERPOOL

I can confirm that a Notice of Concern for alleged DEFAMATION was sent to the Mayor of Liverpool and a reply was received rejecting an offer to Settle out of Court.

As reported in the Daily Telegraph

Legal representatives for Independent community campaigner Michael Andjelkovic sent a concerns notice to Mr Mannoun alleging Defamation on February 9 following a council community forum at Edmondson Park on November 14.

In a recording on council’s YouTube channel, Mr Andjelkovic told a panel of council officials: “I’ve been banned from asking questions of the staff by the CEO as well as being blocked by a few councillors, three of whom are here today.”

Mr Mannoun – flanked by Deputy Mayor Fiona Macnaught, Councillor Karress Rhodes and Richard Ammoun – said: “I can explain to people why you’re getting blocked from the councillors and the CEO. Ultimately council doesn’t appreciate getting racist emails.”

This claim is strongly denied by Mr Andjelkovic, who in a letter served to Mr Mannoun said he had “suffered considerable distress, embarrassment, humiliation and upset” and the matter had caused “serious harm to his reputation”.

In documents seen by this publication, Mr Andjelkovic’s lawyer requested Mr Mannoun to write a letter of apology, publish an apology to Facebook and pay for their client’s $1650 legal costs.

Mr Mannoun said there were no legal proceedings “arising out of my position and duties as mayor”.

“I have not personally engaged any legal counsel for any legal matters in relation to my position as mayor and therefore I have not accrued any legal expenses and have not sought reimbursement of any,” he said.

ARTICLE  ENDS

IT SHOULD BE NOTED BY RESIDENTS THAT there was a $50,000 legal action fighting fund approved for the Mayor of Liverpool at the March 2024 Liverpool Council meeting.

Questions must be asked what exactly  that funding is for. Hopefully the inquiry announced by the Minister for Local Government into the administration of Liverpool City Council will shed some light on the matter plus many other issues that are surfacing.

Remember that you can follow me on Facebook and read about a number of Issues across the Liverpool Council Area.

Please share the online petition to Family Friends and Neighbors so we can increase our numbers before the Community Forum.

I Thank You for your support.

Yours Sincerely
