Demand justice for Xolani Lubisi
The Issue
On 20 September 2026, in the quiet community of Sfunindlela, Mpumalanga, our beloved friend Xolani Lubisi faced a brutal and tragic end at the hands of those who claimed to be protecting the community. Xolani was found in a vulnerable state, lying in their yard, but rather than showing compassion or calling for lawful assistance, this group of so-called community members took justice into their own hands. They accused Xolani of theft—a crime he did not commit—and proceeded to beat him mercilessly, robbing him of his precious life.
This act of mob justice is not only a travesty of local vigilante enforcement but a horrific violation of Xolani’s basic human rights. In a society governed by laws, no one has the right to kill, regardless of suspicions or accusations. Such acts of violence threaten the very fabric of our community, replacing justice with fear, and leaving Xolani’s family and friends grieving without closure or justice.
We are calling on the South African Police Service (SAPS) in Mpumalanga, particularly the Kabokweni station, to take immediate and decisive action:
1. Open a murder case without delay and launch a thorough investigation into this heinous crime.
2. Identify, arrest, and charge those responsible for Xolani’s death.
3. Provide justice to Xolani and his grieving family, ensuring they are supported and see those guilty held accountable.
With your support, we can compel the authorities to act and prevent future tragedies resulting from mob violence. Xolani’s death cannot be in vain. Let us stand together to signal to Mob Justice that it has no place in our community.
Please sign this petition to demand justice for Xolani Lubisi and help put an end to mob justice in Mpumalanga.
