She was coming home from work, carrying her belongings that were the fruit of her hard-earned money, when she was attacked and shot over a cellphone and some cash. In that tragic moment, her life was extinguished, leaving her family, friends, and our community in a state of heartbreak and outrage.

Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident. Across the globe, countless individuals face violence daily, often with fatal consequences, simply for possessing items of personal value. According to the World Health Organization, violence is a leading cause of death in many countries, contributing to over 1.6 million deaths annually. This statistic is more than just a number; it's a representative of lives lost unnecessarily, families torn apart, and communities living in fear.
