The Issue

In a world where places of worship are meant to be sanctuaries of hope and healing, I have faced the unthinkable betrayal. I am a survivor of sexual abuse at the hands of someone who was supposed to be a shepherd of faith—a Pastor of the church. This violation has not only left deep scars on my soul but has shattered the trust and faith I had in a sacred institution.

No one should have to endure such a heinous act, especially within a place that preaches love and safety. The trauma I have experienced is indescribable, and the silence around such abuses only perpetuates the suffering and allows perpetrators to continue harming others. Statistics show that sexual abuse within churches is a disturbingly common issue, with many cases going unreported due to fear, shame, and the power dynamics involved.

I am taking a stand not just for myself, but for every other survivor who has been silenced by fear or intimidation. It is crucial that we hold these individuals accountable for their actions, regardless of their position or status. Justice must be served, not just for us today but to protect future generations from experiencing the same pain.

I urge law enforcement and legal authorities in my area to open an investigation into this matter and take the necessary actions to ensure that justice is served. Church authorities must also adopt stringent measures to prevent such incidents, support victims, and create a transparent environment where abuse can be reported without retaliation.

Together, we can demand change, ensuring that places of worship remain safe havens, not places of fear. Please sign this petition to support the fight for justice and strengthen our call for systemic change. Your signature can help reinforce the urgent need for accountability and the protection of vulnerable individuals in our communities. Thank you for your support.
