Justice for Field Field, King Kong & All Victims of Animal Cruelty in Singapore
This is not just about animals, it’s about protecting our society.
We are calling on the Singapore authorities including NParks, AVS, the Police force, Ministry of Law, and Ministry of Home Affairs to take urgent action against animal cruelty and ensure justice is served in recent tragic cases.
To this day, no one has been held accountable.
In October 2024, another cherished community cat named Field Field lost his life in Whampoa, along with four other victims from Toa Payoh who were stabbed. Thankfully, all of them survived due to the care of feeders, veterinarians, and the crucial support from the people of Singapore. The accused, Ryan Tan Yi Bin, has since disappeared, and the case has gone completely silent.
And before them, the Ang Mo Kio cat cruelty case saw multiple cats harmed and murdered. The perpetrator, Barrie Lin Peng Li, received only 14 months in jail a sentence that many citizens feel falls short of justice.
Why This Matters to Everyone:
Animal cruelty is a red flag.
Many violent offenders begin with harming animals before escalating to abuse against humans.
When we ignore or under-address cruelty against animals, we allow dangerous individuals to grow bolder.
This puts children, the elderly, and vulnerable members of society at risk.
Protecting animals is not just a moral duty, it is a matter of public safety.
We Urge the Authorities to:
- Provide updates on King Kong’s and Field Field’s cases
- Enforce quicker, more transparent investigations
- Strengthen penalties for acts of animal cruelty
- Create a public Animal Abuse Offenders Registry
- Support national education programs on empathy and responsible pet interaction
They Deserve Justice. We Deserve Safety.
This petition is not just for the animals we lost, but for the communities they were part of and for a safer, more compassionate Singapore.
