Recently, the oldest son of the Makarenkos, Vladyslav, posted a video on his YouTube channel, where he explains in detail what has happened to him in this situation of false accusations against the family. To recap, Vlad was arrested within this fabricated case a few weeks after the incarceration of Inna, Yevhen, and their son Oleh. He faced the same charges, stating that he allegedly was with other family members on the night of the “attack” viciously beating the so-called victim. Yet, long before his arrest, Vlad has prepared proof of his undeniable alibi – at the time of the incident, he was not even in the state of Florida – and presented his evidence to the law enforcement immediately upon his detention in Alabama. The police were not willing to listen to anything he had to say, no one reviewed his alibi, and he ended up spending 2.5 months in jail.
Throughout this whole time, despite the endless efforts of our attorneys, no one from the Broward County State Attorney’s office bothered to even have a look at the evidence supporting his innocence. In America, they always say “Innocent until proven guilty,” but in case with our family, for some reason, it turned out to be the exact opposite – “Guilty until proven innocent.” And the most intolerable here is that Vlad was not even given an opportunity to prove his innocence. His guiltiness and involvement in the fabled crime have been taken as a given fact, supported merely by empty deceitful words of the “victim”.
Only afterwards, after family’s attorneys were finally able to reach out to the Broward State Attorney, Harold Pryor, he reviewed Vlad’s alibi. As a result, Pryor apparently had a cogent conversation with the lead prosecutor on this case, Darryl Torres, and as soon as the next day, all charges against Vlad were dropped and he was released from jail. Thereafter, Torres quietly resigned from the office and was transferred to another department. It was our first step towards the victory over this absurd lawlessness. The state has finally began to realize – something does not add up in the story of the prosecution.
In this video, Vlad shares his story in detail, without any political censorship – the young man is sincerely speaking from the heart about what happened to him. He tells about his horrifying experience in two different jails, the terrible conditions of incarceration of inmates, racism towards Ukrainians, and his personal worries and struggles that he had to overcome in order to survive. "I didn't think I would make it out alive" - Vlad.

Недавно старший сын Макаренко, Владислав, выложил у себя на YouTube канале видео, где он подробно рассказывает, что с ним произошло во всей этой ситуации с ложными обвинениями против семьи. Напомним, что Влад был арестован по этому сфабрикованному делу лишь через несколько недель после заключения Инны, Евгения, и их сына Олега. Ему были предоставлены те же обвинения, что он якобы в ночь "преступления" был с остальными членами семьи нанося тяжкие побои так называемой жертве. Ещё задолго до своего ареста, Влад собрал доказательства своего неопровержимого алиби – он на момент инцидента вообще находился за пределами штата Флорида – и предоставил эти доказательства полиции сразу же во время задержания в Алабаме. Полиция ничего и слушать не стала, никто не рассмотрел его документы, и в итоге он провел 2.5 месяца в тюрьме.
На протяжении всего этого времени, несмотря на бесконечные усилия наших адвокатов, никто из офиса прокуратуры округа Броуарда [Broward] не посчитал нужным даже взглянуть на доказательства, подтверждающие его невиновность. В Америке всегда говорят: "Невиновен, пока не доказано обратное", но в случае с нашей семьёй, почему-то, оказалось всё совсем наоборот – "Виновен, пока не доказано обратное". И самое невозмутимое, что Владу даже не дали возможность доказать свою правоту. Его виновность и причастность к выдуманному преступлению приняли как должное, ссылаясь лишь на пустые лживые слова "потерпевшего".
Только потом, после того как адвокаты семьи достучались до генерального прокурора округа, Гэрольда Прайора [Harold Pryor], тот рассмотрел алиби Владислава. В результате, Прайор, очевидно, провёл убедительную беседу с ведущим прокурором дела, Дэррелом Торрезом [Darryl Torres], и уже на следующий день все обвинения с Влада были сняты, и он был выпущен на свободу. Вскоре после этого, Торрез тихо покинул свой пост и перевёлся в другой отдел. Это был наш первый крупный шаг к победе над этим абсурдным беспределом. Штат наконец-то начал понимать: что-то в истории стороны обвинения не складывается.
В этом видео, Влад делится своей историей во всех деталях, без какой-либо политической цензуры – молодой человек от своей души открыто говорит о том, что с ним произошло. Он рассказывает про свой опыт в двух разных тюрьмах, про чудовищные условия содержания заключённых, расизм по отношению к украинцам, и его личные переживания и мучения, через которые ему пришлось пройти чтобы выжить. "Просто, блин, ты думаешь: 'я не выживу в этом всём'" - Влад.
