The Issue

My name is Naomi Slinger and I am writing this petition with a heavy heart and a profound sense of urgency. Recently, Heinrich Human, a beloved member of our community in Louisvale Dorp Upington was senselessly taken from us in a tragic and violent act that has left all of us devastated. Heinrich was more than just a name or a statistic; he was a cousin, a friend and someone's baby. He contributed immensely to our community with his compassion and his unwavering drive to help those around him.

As we mourn Heinrich’s untimely passing, what adds insult to injury is the possibility that the person responsible for this heinous act could be granted bail and walk free, without immediate accountability. We firmly believe that granting bail to a person accused of such a grave crime not only undermines the severity of the situation but also poses a potential risk to public safety. This is why we are urging the Upington Magistrate Office  to deny bail to the accused and ensure that justice for Heinrich is not delayed.

According to past cases show that denying bail in instances involving violent crimes can significantly reduce the risk of repeat offenses and ensures that justice is served fairly and swiftly. Heinrich’s family and the entire community of Upington Northern Cape deserve to feel safe and see justice upheld, which will only occur if the justice system takes decisive action.

It is essential for the integrity of our legal system and for the peace of mind of every resident in our community that accountability is exercised to its fullest extent. We demand a thorough and swift prosecution process that respects and honors the memory of Heinrich while setting an example that violence and harm will not be tolerated.

By signing this petition, you will join me and countless others who believe in justice for Heinrich Human. Let us ensure that our voices are heard and that the rightful course of justice is followed. Help us demand accountability and prevent further tragedy by calling on the authorities to deny bail to the accused and proceed with a just trial. Please sign and share this petition widely.
