I'm so sorry to have to write this, but sadly Waffles is gone. She fought so hard for these past 4 days until she just crashed and her body had had enough. She passed away this morning, August 26th. If you haven't yet, please read her story here. 

Back in July of 2022 she had been fighting for months/years and managed to survive the neglect of Ashley DiFelice at the former Twist of Fate property. She was rescued from that hellhole and had a full year of love, affection, a proper diet, excellent healthcare, and both human and animal friends, just like all animals deserve. She finally got the chance to know true sanctuary at Road to Refuge Sanctuary, after so many others had failed her and she was loved until her last breath and will continue to be loved long after.

Road to Refuge will be getting a necropsy done so that they can better understand what happened after all of her symptoms and tests as well as to get some closure. While they are dealing with their immense grief over this sudden loss, they also need to pay her bill for her testing and hospital stay. There is currently a fundraiser on their Instagram page (@roadtorefugesanctuary) to cover the difference of about $1200. As of publishing this article, they are still about $300 short.
