Ashley DiFelice's next court date has been scheduled for Thursday September 14th at 8:30 am. I'll be posting an update detailing the outcome afterward. Per the last petition update regarding her next court appearance, the judge stated that this hearing will either result in a verdict or the case will go to trial.
The handsome boy pictured above is Linus (formerly named Zebra), rescued from Ashley's cruelty at the former Twist of Fate "sanctuary" and living at Goats of Anarchy (@goatsofanarchy). Here are Leanne's words about Linus' story:
"Linus is a sheep who was born with congenital defects. His spine, neck, and shoulders are deformed so he walks a bit differently than other sheep. If Linus falls down, he can't get himself back up. In a typical herd setting Linus gets picked on, so we placed him with gentle friends. He requires special care with a lot of supervision, so he is now living with animals who have similar needs. Linus is the most innocent and gentle soul, which is why it was so devastating to see him running desperately toward us for help at the Twist of Fate case. We don't know how he managed to survive, but we are so thankful that he did. Linus lives in one of our barns that is dedicated to goats and sheep with disabilities. Here, he will be safe and loved for the rest of his life."
How cute are those teeth??
Also, Caitlin and Len of Rancho Relaxo are still holding a fundraiser for their rescued animals. You can make a donation to that here or here. Even if you can only donate $1, every little bit helps!
Caitlin & Len also did a live chat yesterday on her Instagram (@boochaces). They spoke with some of the other "first responders" to the scene from when the cruelty and neglect was first discovered. The video chat is around 90 minutes long and also includes Marla of The Riley Farm Rescue, Jamie of This Mustang Life, Leslie of Bluemont Equine Sanctuary, and Rancho Relaxo board member Ryane Gouveia. They share their personal experiences about that first day and beyond and some additional info, and you can watch that in the Reels of Caitlin's Instagram here.
Thank you so much for being here. The petition has received around 1,000 additional signatures in the last 24 hours or so because of the one year later mark yesterday and many people just now hearing about the case or the petition for the first time. Please continue to share it via all social media channels as well as through email and text as we want to get as many signatures on it as possible before the September court appearance.
