📌 PETITION UPDATE:

In January 2026, new information was disclosed that further confirms the seriousness of this situation.

AuBrie’s older sister, Ayrabella, reported to her therapist that the same individual previously identified in AuBrie’s case — James O’Kane, the maternal grandmother’s boyfriend — engaged in sexually inappropriate behavior toward her when she was approximately 1 to 5 years old. Ayrabella disclosed that he would watch her bathe and watch her dress and undress during that time period.

Ayrabella further disclosed that she informed her maternal grandmother of this behavior, and no action was taken to protect her.

Following this disclosure, Children & Youth Services became involved.

As of yesterday, we were formally informed that:

James O’Kane has been INDICATED for child sexual abuse in connection with Ayrabella’s case

The maternal grandmother has been INDICATED for failure to act / failure to protect

These findings mean the Commonwealth has officially determined that child abuse occurred involving two children, the same perpetrator, and a caretaker who failed to intervene.

Despite these indicated findings:

Criminal charges have still not been filed

Children & Youth has informed us that they are actively urging law enforcement to pursue charges

Children & Youth has stated that, in their professional assessment, there is sufficient evidence to support criminal prosecution

We were advised that State Police indicated the District Attorney is declining to file charges at this time

This is particularly concerning because we were previously informed that the District Attorney required what was described as a “slam dunk case” in order to proceed with prosecution.

At this point, the record includes:

Two child victims

Two indicated findings by the Commonwealth

One identified perpetrator

One caretaker indicated for failure to protect

Multiple agency involvements and corroborating disclosures

We are sharing this update to maintain transparency and to ask an important question:

If confirmed abuse involving multiple children does not meet the threshold for criminal charges, what does?

Our goal remains the same — accountability, transparency, and protection for children. We are continuing to seek lawful action and oversight so that no other child is left unprotected.

Thank you to everyone who continues to stand with our family and support justice for child victims.
