Demand investigation and removal of acting HOD in NC education
The Issue
In the Northern Cape, we are faced with a pressing issue that demands immediate attention: unchecked power and alleged corruption within our Department of Education. Our organization, Women Waging On – GBVF, Abuse, Inequality & Poverty, is spearheading a campaign to challenge what we believe is a blatant abuse of authority by a 69-year-old government official currently acting in a Head of Department (HOD) position.
This individual has been operating under a questionable month-to-month contract which, in our opinion, is unfairly sustained, allowing them to maintain a grip on power without accountability. Such arrangements are dangerous and leave room for potential acts of corruption and maladministration to flourish. It is imperative that this contract not be renewed, and furthermore, that the official voluntarily vacates their position to allow for a comprehensive and unbiased investigation into their conduct.
Unchecked power fosters inequality, which goes against the very principles of our governance. Numerous reports and testimonies have surfaced, suggesting that favoritism and protection have shielded this individual from the laws that are supposed to guard against such abuses. We need to confront this issue head-on and ensure that justice and equality prevail.
Education is at the heart of our community's future, and it must be free from corruption and mismanagement. Leaders must lead with integrity, and those who fail to meet this standard must be held accountable. We are calling upon the concerned authorities and our community to take action.
By signing this petition, you stand with us in demanding that a thorough investigation is conducted and justice is served. Let's ensure that our educational system is led by individuals who are truly committed to its betterment, not personal interest. Sign to bring change.
