Introducing LeShonda Wallace, Doctor of Public Health

LeShonda Wallace is a candidate for the County Commission in New Hanover County.  She met with the Board of the Cape Fear Five Star Project last week to talk about the quality of hospital care in our county.  Here is what we learned.  As a  Nurse Practitioner, she has always been an outspoken advocate for high quality health care for disadvantaged populations such as Veterans and patients with HIV/AIDS.  She is knowledgeable, articulate, thoughtful, and engaged.  If she is elected, she will be the only Commissioner with in-depth knowledge of the healthcare system. That is a valuable skill given the current state of health infrastructure in the region.
